Due to a main break on 10/17/19 in the Tinker Rd area, customers in some parts of Northwest Nashua and Amherst system may experience intermittent periods of colored water. Repairs on the main are complete, and our crews are working over the next few days to clear the colored water from the system. Customers experiencing colored water are encouraged to contact Customer Service at 800-553-5191 to report the occurrence.  Information provided by our customers is helpful as we respond to alleviate the colored water.  To minimize the potential for colored water as construction work continues over the next several weeks, Pennichuck crews will be performing flushing activities as necessary. This message will be updated accordingly if additional flushing is necessary.   Please click here for a map of the area affected.

Storm Drain Mapping and Marking

A 2003 project for the Pennichuck Watershed involved mapping storm drains, flow direction and outfalls on public lands within the watershed. By marking storm drains with buttons that read, “Let Only Rain Go Down the Storm Drain – Drains to Water Supply,” Pennichuck Water Works increased residents’ and businesses’ awareness of the direct connection between storm drains, waterways, and drinking water.
